Public storytelling is voluntary. Saying no never changes your eligibility for the Memorial Fund or Hero Fund.
Contact permission is separate
The optional checkbox on an application allows us to contact you about a public story. It does not authorize unrestricted publication. Before using a story, we confirm the approved names, photographs, quotations, words, channels, and your authority to consent.
Scope of confirmed permission
With separate confirmed consent, EverMemorial may use the specifically approved story and materials in its website, social channels, fund updates, and news articles explaining the assistance program. Private financial, service, death, and medical evidence is excluded. No payment is offered for publicity unless separately agreed.
Permission from others
You may authorize only rights you hold. Consent is required for identifying details about living people; participation involving a living minor requires appropriate parent or guardian authority. Be considerate of surviving family members and obtain necessary rights to images or quotations.
Changes and withdrawal
Before publication, you may decline, withdraw, or request edits. After publication, we will reasonably seek to stop future use and remove material we control when requested, but cannot guarantee removal from independent outlets, archives, caches, or distributed copies.
Consent records
A confirmed release records the approved materials and channels, signer identity and authority, date, agreement version, and affirmative electronic consent or signature. An application checkbox alone is insufficient to publish a family’s story.
